Mobile Phones Increase 110%
The number of mobile phones in use in Colombia grew by 11.5 million users, or 110%, during 2005, from 10.4 million to 21.9 million, the largest increase in the system's decade-long history in the country, according to a report by industry and commerce regulator Siust.
The sector's growth was steady and continuous, with approximately three million new subscribers signing on every quarter.
