Latvian Indoor Coverage Improves

The GSM network operator, BITE Latvija says that it is extensively improving in-door coverage in Riga by increasing the density of its base stations and is also rapidly developing geographical network coverage. The company now covered five new towns - Bauska, Cesis, Preili, Livani and Kegums. Currently BITE network is available already in 16 most populated Latvian cities and is being further expanded actively.

"As the number of our customers increases fast, we understand how important is to ensure network coverage and quality. We have covered largest Latvian cities with the biggest number of inhabitants and now continue with the smaller towns. In order to ensure network coverage not only in the cities and towns, but also while traveling from one place to another, we have started connecting the main road between the main Latvian cities", - Jesper Theill Eriksen, CEO of BITE Latvija, said.

Situated in the Southern part of the country, Bauska with over 10 thousand residents is the biggest Latvian town on the road, connecting two capital cities - Riga and Vilnius. Starting with this town BITE will proceed with covering the territory from Riga to the Southern border of Latvia. The old historical town Cesis, frequently visited by tourists, is the 11th biggest town in Latvia with the present population of more than 18 thousand. By covering Preili, BITE started expanding its network into the smaller Latvian towns. By covering Livani and Kegums BITE continues filling in remaining coverage gaps on the road connecting two biggest Latvian cities Riga and Daugavpils. It is planned to cover nearly all this road till the end of this year.

BITE has 50,000 customers, since its launch in September 2005."
