Ukraine's Kyivstar Plans to Invest over $600 Mln in 2006

KIEV, Dec 8 (Prime-Tass) -- Ukraine's leading mobile operator Kyivstar plans to invest over U.S. $600 million in the development of its network in 2006, compared with about $594 million allocated for this year, Telenor's CFO and Kyivstar's board of directors' member Torstein Moland told Prime-Tass Thursday.

Norway's telecommunication company Telenor holds 56.5% in Kyivstar, while the remaining 43.5% is held by Storm, which is fully owned by Russia's Alfa Group.

Kyivstar's capital investments in 2004 amounted to $381 million.

The subscriber base of Kyivstar amounted to 12.532 million users as of December 1.
