Celcom Boosts its Messaging and Prepaid Capacity
LogicaCMG says that it has deployed a major mobile messaging and mobile payments upgrade with Malaysia's Celcom, serving over 5 million prepaid subscribers. The contract valued at approximately over US$16 million includes the deployment of LogicaCMG's Next Generation Short Messaging Service Centre (SMSC), Intelligent Network Platform, Pre-Delivery Service Agent and Business Tools solutions.
The expansion will also include a prepaid upgrade for 3G which is currently nearing completion of deployment.
The upgrade to the Next Generation SMSC will enable Celcom to increase its messaging capacity more than 1,000 messages per second in order to accommodate peaks in SMS traffic, as well as support future growth. Dedicated messaging capacity will be reserved for peak scenarios, leaving normal messaging traffic unaffected, to safeguard and maximise opportunities for growth without impacting on quality of service to existing subscribers.
LogicaCMG will also integrate its Business Tools solution with Celcom's Next Generation Messaging infrastructure. This combined customer care and business intelligence solution will enable Celcom to gain a better insight in customer behaviour and service usage, allowing them to enhance service experience and increase revenues."
