Australia's Telstra Says Doug Campbell To Retire
SYDNEY -(Dow Jones)- Telstra Corp. said Tuesday that Doug Campbell will retire as head of its CountryWide rural services division later this month.
In a statement, Chief Executive Solomon Trujillo said following his retirement from the post, Campbell has agreed to serve in the role of executive adviser to the chief executive.
"This job will include, but not be limited to, special responsibility for developing our business in rural Australia, representing Telstra's interests to rural constituencies, and assisting us as rural customers upgrade their mobile phone services from CDMA to 3G," Trujillo said.
Campbell will also continue to serve on the Telstra CountryWide advisory board.
"I look forward to Doug's continuing contribution to Telstra in his new capacity," Trujillo said.
Campbell has lead the CountryWide division since 2000, but has also served as group managing director of Telstra's wholesale, international, carrier services, network and technology and consumer and commercial business units.
Trujillo said he will outline plans for the leadership of the unit in coming weeks.
