I-Mode Launched in Singapore
DoCoMo has reported that Singapore's StarHub launched its i-mode service over the weekend. The service, which will be offered over StarHub's GPRS and W-CDMA networks, marks the opening of the 15th market for i-mode, following Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, Taiwan, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Australia, Israel, Russia, England and Ireland, in that order.
DoCoMo concluded an agreement in January 2005 to provide StarHub, a provider of integrated info-communications services, with the know-how, technologies and patents necessary to launch and operate an i-mode service exclusively for mobile users in Singapore.
The service is being launched initially on the NEC N600i, N411i and Samsung S410i handsets."
