Taiwan Operator Deploys Multi-Network Platform
Published on:
Azaire Networks has announced today that Taiwan's Chunghwa Mobile Business Group, part of Chunghwa Telecom, will deploy it' IP Converged Network Platform (IP-CNP). With the IP-CNP, Chunghwa Mobile will provide its subscribers seamless services across GPRS, 3G and WLAN networks. Chunghwa Mobile subscribers will be able to use a notebook PC with a 3G data card, a PDA or a dual-mode handset to access unified services across different wireless networks.
Elta Technology will assist with the integration of Azaire's IP-CNP into Chunghwa Telecom's core network.
Azaire's IP-CNP will enable Chunghwa Telecom to cost effectively deliver seamless mobile broadband services to its subscribers everywhere. For example, a subscriber can roam between macrocellular 3G networks and WLAN zones, always receiving the best connected service that has an identical look and feel.
"We reviewed and tested the offerings and capabilities of several companies, and selected Azaire's IP Converged Network Platform because it is 3GPP compliant and provides the highest level of convergence across 3G, 2.5G and WLAN networks," said Mu-Piao Shih, Vice President of Chunghwa Telecom's Mobile Business Group. "The Azaire Networks solution supports Taiwan's Dual Network Initiative."
"Taiwan's Dual Network Initiative is a government-sponsored program to integrate 3G and WiFi networks throughout the island," said Bill Howe, President and Chief Executive Officer of Azaire Networks. "Chunghwa Mobile continues to demonstrate its leadership in mobile and broadband services with the selection of Azaire's Next Generation IP-CNP. We are delighted to have Chunghwa as a new customer."
