China To Get WAP

Nokia is to deliver a GSM900 network expansion and WAP solution to Hainan Mobile Communications in China, in a contract worth over US$30 million. Nokia will also supply Nokia Artus Messaging Platform, a WAP gateway solution for operators, a trial Nokia Intelligent Network. and a base station subsystems expansion, as well as full Operational Support Services and the Nokia Network Management System. Deliveries begin in March and the system will be operational in September. Hainan Mobile Communications has around 250,000 subscribers and operates mainly in Haikou and Sanya."
