Mobile Games Developer Loses Boss

I-play, the mobile games company, has unexpectedly announced that Brian Greasley has stepped down as CEO of the company. David Gosen, currently Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed acting Chief Executive with immediate effect.

The company's lead shareholders, Apax and Argo expressed their continuing commitment to I-play and their strong confidence in the market for mobile entertainment. The Board expressed its thanks to Brian for leading the company through four significant years of its development.

David Gosen joined I-play as its COO in September 2004. He has over 18 years of Sales, Marketing and Distribution management experience with blue-chip entertainment and consumer goods multinationals, most recently with Nintendo Europe as Managing Director, Sales and Marketing. He was responsible for driving Nintendo's significant European growth in the last five years and notably launched three new market-redefining platforms: the Nintendo GameCube, the Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Advance SP. Prior to Nintendo, David was Marketing and Distribution Director at British Sky Broadcasting from 1996 to 1999, and previously held a number of senior marketing and sales positions at Mercury One-to-One, Pepsico, and CocaCola & Schweppes Beverages.
