BUDAPEST -(Dow Jones)- Oil and gas company MOL Rt. (MOL.BU) has switched to the local unit of the U.K.'s Vodafone Group PLC (VOD) as its mobile services provider, the mobile company said Monday.
Vodafone replaced from Sept. 1 Pannon GSM Rt., the Hungarian mobile arm of Telenor ASA (TELN) of Norway, as MOL's mobile services provider.
Under the new contract, Vodafone will provide mobile services not only to the Hungarian operations of MOL, the country's largest company by revenue, but also to its units in neighboring Romania and Slovakia.
The deal represents the biggest switch to date of mobile numbers to an alternative provider in Hungary.
Financial details weren't disclosed.
