Research In Motion, T-Mobile In Pact For Yahoo Mail Access"

BELLEVUE, Wash. -(Dow Jones)- Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) and T-Mobile USA launched a new Blackberry model 7105t with an Internet e-mail service for Yahoo Inc. (YHOO) Mail users.

In a press release Thursday, Research In Motion said with this new service, users will receive real-time delivery of e-mail messages sent to their Yahoo Mail accounts.

The Blackberry Internet e-mail service from T-Mobile, a unit of Deutsche Telecom AG (DT), would enhance the wireless synchronization of sent and deleted items as well as read/unread message status. For example, Yahoo Mail messages deleted on a BlackBerry handset can be automatically deleted in the consumers' Yahoo Mail account.

T-Mobile USA customers can use this service using the new BlackBerry 7105t, which features a new scratch-resistant, high-resolution color screen, larger send and end keys, and contoured keys for easier typing, Research In Motion said.

A T-Mobile spokesman said this is not the first time that users have been able to check Web email with Blackberry. In addition to the well-known Blackberry corporate email tool, there has also been the Blackberry Internet service, formerly called Blackberry Web Client. Users could previously go to AOL and other Internet service providers, but this is the first time that Yahoo Mail is accessible.

The company spokesman noted the service will be available to all T-Mobile Blackberry customers, not just owners of the new model 7105t.
