Buy Ringtones on Skype

Skype has signed an agreement with Qpass to start selling ringtones and other mobile content on the Skype web site. The Personalise Skype service allows Skype users with the latest version of Skype for Windows 1.4 to download pre-recorded voice clips and sounds to use as a ringtone or to customise any of the default sound events in Skype. There is also a wide variety of pictures and avatars.

The launch of Personalise Skype now gives our users the opportunity to express themselves by customizing their experience while using Skype," said James Bilefield, Vice President of Business Development, of Skype. "Qpass was highly responsive and able to rapidly integrate its software with our platform in a matter of weeks, allowing us to quickly bring these premium services to market."

Presumably now that Skype is owned by eBay, the company will finally take seriously the problem of people selling CD's full of stolen mobile content on the eBay system. Afterall, it now affects their own profit margins."
