SK Telecom: Exploring India, SE Asian Mkts For Growth "
SINGAPORE -(Dow Jones)- SK Telecom Co Ltd. (017670.SE) is looking at India and Southeast Asian markets for expansion opportunities, Shin Bae Kim, the South Korean company's president and chief executive said Tuesday.
The company has to look for growth overseas as the mobile-telephone market in South Korea has become saturated, he told Dow Jones Newswires on the sidelines of a mobile conference in the city state.
Kim said India is one of the markets the company is considering for potential acquisitions, in addition to Southeast Asia, but he didn't provide further details.
He declined to comment on recent market speculation that SK Telecom will invest in India's Tata Teleservices Ltd. (532371.BY).
