Two Operators Sold To New Venture

Blackfoot Communications of Missoula has sold its mobile wireless communications businesses to MTPCS. MTPCS, headquartered in Great Falls, will maintain a significant operations center in Montana, and has extensive plans to reveal a new brand, calling plans, and network expansion in the near future. Until then, local operations will continue under the Blackfoot Communications name, with all retail employees and store operations already transferred to MTPCS.

MTPCS simultaneously completed its purchase of the mobile wireless business of 3 Rivers Communications in Great Falls.

MTPCS Vice President and General Manager, Ernie Peterson, stated from his Great Falls Headquarters office, "This transaction will allow the mobile wireless customers from each of the systems to experience the benefits of combining the strengths of both entities under this new company". Mr. Peterson also said, "We will continue to provide exceptional local customer service and will strive to provide our potential client base with the positive wireless experience that they deserve."

MTPCS is backed by unknown financiers, although MTPCS Vice President and General Manager, Ernie Peterson formerly managed the wireless division for 3 Rivers Communications."
