STOCKHOLM -(Dow Jones)- Finnish telecommunications equipment maker Nokia Oyj (NOK) Monday said it has established a research and development center for mobile infrastructure in Chengdu, in Sichuan, Western China.
The R&D center will develop mobile applications based on 3G and IP Multimedia Subsystem for both Chinese and global markets.
The center was opened during an inauguration ceremony on Aug. 28.
The Nokia Chengdu R&D center is the company's sixth R&D unit and second 3G R&D center in China.
