China Mobile Adds 3.581 Million Subscribers In July

HONG KONG -(Dow Jones)- China Mobile (Hong Kong) Ltd. (CHL), the listed arm of China's largest mobile operator, said Friday it added 3.581 million new subscribers in July, up from 3.276 million in June.

China Mobile, which uses global system for mobile service technology, said it added 3.476 million pre-paid users and 105,000 contract subscribers.

At the end of July, the company had 60.737 million contract subscribers and 166.625 million prepaid users.

China is the world's largest telecom market by subscribers, with 363.16 million mobile subscribers and a penetration rate of 28% at the end of June, the latest month for which data is available.
