Nokia To Deliver HSDPA Solution To T-Mobile
STOCKHOLM -(Dow Jones)- Finnish mobile communications company Nokia Oyj (NOK) Wednesday said it has signed an agreement with T-Mobile International AG (TMO.YY) for the delivery of its upgrade solution for third generation wireless technology to T-Mobile in Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
The value of the deal wasn't disclosed.
The company said the Nokia High Speed Packet Downlink Access, or HSDPA, solution is a software upgrade to the Wideband Code Division Multiple Access, or WCDMA, network. With HSDPA, data speeds will go up to between one and two Mbps in the first phase.
Under the agreement, Nokia will supply T-Mobile with its HSDPA solution as well as capacity expansions to T-Mobile's radio networks in the three countries. In addition, installation, commissioning and network optimization services are included in the deal.
