New Rating Software For Mexican Operator

Telefonica Moviles Mexico has ordered a rating system for its GSM-CDMA based roaming services from Portal Software. In December of 2004, Portal announced that Telefonica Moviles had selected it's Revenue Management solution for its GSM network that provides value-added services for MMS, WAP, GPRS, SMS, and content. Telefonica Moviles is the largest service provider in Latin America and the fourth largest service provider worldwide. Portal also provides solutions to Telefonica in Argentina.

Telefonica Moviles, after extensive competitive analysis, selected the Portal solution to support the needs for the region due to Portal's branding, roaming, and multi-currency capabilities. Telefonica Moviles currently supports a million roaming events per month and works with dozens of roaming partners throughout the region.

The new system will support incollect and outcollect roaming for CDMA1900, CDMA850, and GSM networks, CIBER 2.5 and TAP 3.10 formats, and interface the rating system to Telefonica Moviles' legacy system. In addition, the Portal Revenue Management solution will provide statistical customer analysis information to further enhance Telefonica Moviles' customer management capabilities."
