Orange Israel Reports 3G Subscriber Base
At a press conference held yesterday, Israel's Partner Communications announced the introduction of three additional 3G handsets and announced that it has approximately 35,000 3G subscribers. Partner trades under the Orange brand name, although it has no direct financial links to the company.
The company launched its 3G network in December last year and has a self-imposed target of 100,000 subscribers by the end of this year, leaving them some 65,000 subscribers to sign up in the next six months.
Rivals, Pele-Phone reports that it has some 20,000 3G subscribers, while Cellcom does not break out its 3G subscriber base.
As of the beginning of April, Partner had 2.372 million subscribers, representing an estimated 32% of the cellular market in Israel."
