Ericsson Restructures Operations In Kalmar; Cuts 130 Jobs
STOCKHOLM -(Dow Jones)- Swedish telecommunications company Telefon AB L.M. Ericsson (ERICY) Monday said it will restructure its operations in Kalmar, Sweden with the loss of 130 jobs.
The company employs 230 people at Kalmar at present. The restructuring is estimated to be completed in 2007.
Notice will be given to affected employees in the autumn, when negotiations with labor unions will also start, Ericsson said.
The company said the operations in Kalmar will focus on research and development, while manufacturing will be concentrated in China.
