Lucent Signs Up for Push to Talk Platform
Kodiak Networks and Lucent Technologies have announced a global reseller agreement to accelerate the deployment of OMA/PoC-based Push-to-Talk (PTT) solutions for IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem)-based networks.
Under the agreement, Lucent will resell Kodiak's PTT solution for CDMA2000 and UMTS networks. The companies will collaborate on system integration, interoperability testing, joint marketing, training and support of Kodiak's full product portfolio, including the Kodiak Real-Time Exchange (RTX) System and voice service (AVS) applications. Kodiak is integrating its RTX system -- which is designed to comply with Push-to-Talk Over Cellular (PoC) interoperability standards established by the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) -- with Lucent's IMS solution.
"Our relationship with Lucent enables the delivery of advanced voice service applications with IMS functionality in a 3G network environment," said Timothy Hall, vice president of Strategic Alliances, Kodiak Networks. "Lucent's IMS expertise, CDMA leadership and growing UMTS customer base make them an excellent partner to help deploy these premium voice services applications to operators worldwide."
