China Mobile Adds 3.232 Million New Subscribers In April

HONG KONG -(Dow Jones)- China Mobile (Hong Kong) Ltd. (CHL), the listed arm of China's largest mobile phone operator, said Friday it added 3.232 million new subscribers in April, down from additions of 3.251 million in March.

China Mobile, which uses the global system for mobile service, said it added 3.104 million prepaid subscribers and 128,000 contract subscribers in April. At the end of April, the company had 217.106 million subscribers, of which 156.710 million were prepaid and 60.396 million post-paid.

China is the world's largest telecom market, with about 344 million mobile users at the end of February and a mobile penetration rate of 25.9%.
