Tecnomen To Supply $4.4 Million Prepaid Expansion In Ecuador

STOCKHOLM -(Dow Jones)- Finnish telecommunications solutions provider Tecnomen Oyj (TEM1V.HE) Monday said it has received a contract to deliver a $4.4 million prepaid expansion to America Movil S.A. De C.V.'s (AMX) Porta subsidiary in Ecuador.

The company said the expansion will significantly improve the Ecuadorian mobile operator's prepaid capacity and increases its flexibility to design new promotions, discounts and packages to attract different prepaid customer segments and reduce churn.

Porta is the largest mobile communications operator in Ecuador and has 2.6 million subscribers.

The company said that Tecnomen Prepaid utilizes its extensive experience in the provision of intelligent network prepaid solutions to deliver cost effective, redundant, scalable and standard compliant solutions at the highest level.

Tecnomen Prepaid doesn't impose any restrictions on mobile terminals or SIM cards, and supports the simultaneous use of different bearer network standards such as TDMA, GSM and CDMA.
