Another Hispanic Virtual Network for the USA
The USA based handset retailer, InPhonic says that it will launch a Spanish language version of its Liberty Wireless MVNO pay-as-you-go wireless service, targeted exclusively for Hispanics in the United States -- a growing community that numbers more than 40 million today.
As part of its product offering, Viva Liberty customers will also be able to call internationally through one touch dialing to Latin and South American countries and beyond. InPhonic's partner and affiliate network already includes some of the most recognized online brands on the Internet today including Yahoo, AOL and MSN, all of which have developed significant online marketing programs to deliver content services and products to the Hispanic community. InPhonic intends to tailor the Viva Liberty offering to meet the wireless needs of online communities with growing Hispanic subscriber bases.
"This new service is a demonstration of InPhonic's vision for the MVNO market space," said David A. Steinberg, InPhonic's Chairman and CEO. "We believe there is great opportunity to deliver a product that is both culturally and linguistically relevant for the U.S. Hispanic population. We are excited to be amongst the first to address this under-served consumer segment."
InPhonic chose the Viva Liberty brand both as a natural extension of its current MVNO, Liberty Wireless, and for the stand-alone, powerful message it delivers as a brand. Viva Liberty melds the Spanish word "live" with liberty, uniquely evoking the freedom to communicate without barriers. Viva Liberty will offer some of the most competitive rate plans in the industry, including low-cost starter plans. As a prepaid wireless service, all customers will be approved regardless of credit history."
