Vodafone Moves into Selling Motor Cars
Vodafone Spain is starting to sell motor cars. The company has teamed up with Ford to start selling the Ford Fiesta Vodafone. This model includes a Vodafone live! mobile with 3G, a pre-installed hands-free car kit and a GPS navigation system - all of which are equipped with Bluetooth technology.
The integration of Vodafone live! 3G within the Ford Fiesta model, offers drivers a complete solution in accordance with current safety regulations.
The new Ford Fiesta Vodafone incorporates a solution which synchronises the system's memory with the mobile's phone book, so once connected all calls are made through the hands free system. This application is integrated into the stereo system, it interrupts the radio when a call is received and tells the driver the name of the caller, thus allowing him to take or reject the call through voice commands. In this way, the number of possible driver distractions is reduced.
According to Alma Miller, Director of Brand and Image at Vodafone Spain, "Following the hugely successful launch of the Ford Focus Vodafone in May 2004, we have reached this new agreement with the aim of offering young Ford Fiesta drivers a complete range of leisure and entertainment services wherever they are, thanks to Vodafone live! with 3G".
The new Ford Fiesta Vodafone has been designed based on the foundation of the new Ford Fiesta S in its 90cv 1.6 TDCi and the 100cv 1.6i versions. The Ford Fiesta Vodafone units are externally differentiated because they are red with white GT-style stripes.
Although the special Fiesta Vodafone is limited to S versions, the rest of the Fiesta range also benefits from the Ford - Vodafone agreement, which includes the latest technologies, Bluetooth and navigation, which facilitate mobility and improve safety.
The new Ford Fiesta Vodafone will be available at Ford dealers from February to Vodafone Customers."
