Ericsson Expands Hosting Offering With Content Packages

STOCKHOLM -(Dow Jones)- Telefon AB LM Ericsson (ERICY) Wednesday said it has launched an expansion of its hosting offering with content packages for mobile portals.

The five different categories concerned are music, multiplayer gaming, video, multimedia subscriptions and downloads.

Operators can offer consumers a series of portals prepackaged with content from Ericsson partners including SonyBMG, Warner Music International, Bloomberg, Kamera, FashionTv, Mixipix and others, the company said.

The so-called white label portals are integrated and hosted by Ericsson under a managed services agreement, which means operators can quickly introduce consumer services under their own brands and retain control of their customer relationships.

Consumers will easily access the portals and services from their mobile phones and other handheld devices. Furthermore, content distribution and digital rights management are included in Ericsson's hosting offering, the company said.
