Simpay Names David Taylor Chief Executive

LONDON -(Dow Jones)- Simpay, the mobile phone payment system developer, Wednesday said it has appointed David Taylor as chief executive.

Taylor, who will be in charge of driving the commercial launch of Simpay's mobile commerce system, joins from Orange, the mobile arm of France Telecom SA (FTE), where he was vice president of consumer and small business marketing at the company's U.K. operation. Prior to working at Orange, he worked with electronic cash scheme Mondex International.

Simpay is owned by Orange, Deutsche Telekom AG's (DT) T-Mobile International, Vodafone Group PLC (VOD) and Telefonica Moviles SA (TEM).

Taylor succeeds Tim Jones who will remain with the company in an advisory role.
