Motorola President and COO Zafirovski Resigns

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. -(Dow Jones)- Motorola Inc. (MOT), which recently announced a reorganization of its business, said President and Chief Operating Officer Mike S. Zafirovski has decided to resign from the company.

Zafirovski, 51 years old, will remain in his position until Jan. 31 and will then serve in an advisory role during the transition.

"This is a decision I have considered carefully and which I discussed at length with [Chairman and Chief Executive Ed Zander]," Zafirovski said in a press release Wednesday. "This is the right time for me to start considering other opportunities."
