SMS Used to Warn of Oil Spillages

The Finnish ICT-company, Mermit Business Applications has delivered a text messaging alarm system to the WWF Finland. The new solution is meant to be used by WWF Finland's voluntary troops. In case of an oil tanker disaster in the Baltic Sea region, WWF Finland can now deliver information and action guidelines to more than 3000 volunteers via SMS. Mermit also sponsors all the communication costs that the new system causes.
