Trial Court Ruling in Litigation with Qualcomm
Maxim Integrated Products, Inc., announced yesterday a ruling from the trial court in its ongoing lawsuit with Qualcomm. The Court announced that it would deny Qualcomm's request to delay the development and introduction of Maxim's next generation of direct conversion RF chips for cellular applications. This specifically relates to the WC31 and the WC32 chipset, receiver and transmitter IC's for dual band NCDMA.
The Court did not limit Maxim's right to develop, produce, or sell these parts or any others. The Court further announced its intention to enter a preliminary injunction order that would require confidential information of Qualcomm not to be accepted from third parties or used by Maxim. The Court indicated that it would require customers of Maxim to be notified of the order.
Maxim says that it is committed to providing the cellular industry with products that are based on Maxim's own proprietary RF technologies."
