MMS by Postcard
Hungary's Pannon has launched a new MMS service that allows pictures taken with a mobile phone camera or any other MMS picture to be sent in the form of a normal postcard to friends and family. The picture for the postcard is to be sent as an MMS Message to phone number 1771, and the reply from Pannon GSM includes directions to the service's WAP interface, where the postcard can be sent quickly and easily.
Opening the WAP interface shows the uploaded pictures and other built-in pictures in the Postcard Gallery to choose from. This is also where the name and address for the postcard is entered, as well as the message, which can either be included with the original MMS or the welcoming words may also be added to the card before posting. Then the system automatically prints out the MMS and sends it to the address, which must be within Hungary.
The MMS Postcard service can also be accessed from any foreign network with which Pannon GSM has a GPRS roaming contract, so that you can send your holiday pictures home immediately. Uploading MMS messages to number 1771 is free, and the price of printing and delivering the postcard is 400 forints inclusive.
"Digital cameras built into the latest mobile phones are capable of really good, print-quality images," said D
