T-Mobile Hungary Reaches 4 Million Customers
BUDAPEST -(Dow Jones)- Hungary's leading mobile operator, T-Mobile, reached four million customers Wednesday, the company said in a release Thursday.
T-Mobile is a subsidiary of Hungarian telecom leader Matav (MTA), which is majority owned by Deutsche Telekom (DT).
T-Mobile Hungary said it expected a further increase in its customer base, despite a market that is almost fully saturated.
Former mobile operator Westel took the name T-Mobile in June, joining a network of carriers with a total of 103 million subscribers in Europe and the U.S.
In 2004, T-Mobile Hungary added 250,000 subscribers to its network, while the number of contract customers has increased after a long growth in the prepaid customer base.
