Dutch Telfort Signs 3G Agreement With Huawei

AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--Dutch telecommunications company Telfort confirmed in a press release Thursday that it signed an agreement with Huawei Technologies Co. (HWI.YY) for third-generation wireless technology, known as UMTS, late Wednesday.

In addition to the UMTS agreement, the companies will set up a 3G technology research and development platform in the Netherlands next year.

No financial details were provided.
