UK Mobile Phone Users To Send 30 Billion Text Messages In 05-MDA
LONDON -(Dow Jones)- U.K. mobile phone users will send 30 billion chargeable person-to-person text messages in 2005 the Mobile Data Association predicted Wednesday.
Based on the strength of text messaging growth in 2004, where figures have consistently exceeded 2 billion a month, the association expects the number of texts sent in the U.K. to reach 82 million messages a day.
It predicts 25 billion will be sent in all of 2004 after 20.5 billion were sent in 2003.
