Canada's Telus Mobility says that it has earned top spot in a ranking of North America's wireless carriers by N. Moore Capital, Ltd., an independent New York company providing financial analysis of the telecommunications industry. It's the third consecutive quarter Telus Mobility has ranked first.
"We are very pleased that Telus Mobility continues to be recognized for its success not just in Canada but on the North American stage. The honour is a testament to the focus and hard work of our national team," said George Cope, Telus Mobility's president and CEO.
"Telus Mobility's exceptionally strong operating earnings, revenue, minutes of use and revenue per subscriber, coupled with a churn rate among the lowest in the global wireless sector, place us at the forefront of our industry. Our strict focus on profitable growth has proved to be a winning formula."
N. Moore Capital's report analyzed the third-quarter 2004 performance of the 22 major wireless carriers in North America based on five main metrics: Subscriber growth, average revenue per subscriber, churn, free cash flow per subscriber and cost of acquisition.
"Telus Mobility has increased its lead as the best-performing wireless operator in North America by the widest margin ever - a solid nine points ahead of the next closest competitor," said Jeffery Hines, president of N. Moore Capital, in the firm's latest report. "The dominance Telus Mobility showed this quarter was in part due to its exceptional client satisfaction rate. The company's churn was just 1.34%, half the industry-wide median blended churn rate of 2.6%."
