Brazil's Mobile Operator Vivo Reaches 25 Million Subscribers
MADRID -(Dow Jones)- Spanish mobile phone operator Telefonica Moviles SA (TEM) said Wednesday its joint venture Vivo has reached 25 million subscribers in Brazil.
In a press release, Moviles said the figure makes Vivo the largest South American operator.
Moviles is 93%-owned by telecommunications giant Telefonica SA (TEF).
Brazil represents 36% of Telefonica SA's customers worldwide and 17% of its revenue.
Vivo is jointly owned by Moviles and Portugal Telecom SA (PT).
