Die Hard with a Mobile Phone

Wireless entertainment publisher Mobile Scope and Twentieth Century Fox have announced a global, multi-title agreement granting Mobile Scope rights to develop, publish and distribute entertainment products for mobile devices. Under this agreement Mobile Scope gains the Die Hard license and expands the scope of the Ice Age license for which the company is developing mobile entertainment products. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company expects to unveil a suite of branded entertainment products for Sun Microsystems's J2ME-, Symbian-, and Qualcomm's Brew-enabled mobile devices in Summer 2004.

"This multi-title agreement underscores Mobile Scope's strategy to partner with major international entertainment companies and expand the company's mobile game portfolio with high quality products," said Juergen Goeldner, CEO of Mobile Scope AG. "We are very pleased to extend our current publishing relationship with Twentieth Century Fox to a worldwide scale and have such terrific brands as Die HardT, and Ice AgeT under our publishing umbrella."

"Mobile Scope has a proven track record working with Fox in transforming its properties, such as Ice AgeT, into wireless content," said Jim Beddows, vice president of wireless entertainment for Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising Division. "And with Fox's seemingly endless catalog of properties perfect for the wireless space, we are excited to begin work with Mobile Scope to this end."
