Rural Location Services for Emergency Users
Intrado has announced new contracts with two rural USA market CDMA operators to provide E911 Phase I and II services. Intrado E911 services will enable rural wireless operators Oregon-based Ramcell of Oregon and Illinois-based Illinois Valley Cellular to serve their subscribers more efficiently with enhanced emergency services.
Both operators have purchased Phase I and II services and Position Determination Equipment (PDE) services from Intrado. Each will use Intrado's hosted service facility, which will eliminate both facility and technical obsolescence concerns.
"Our goal with hosted services is to make E9-1-1 solutions available to all wireless service providers, whether large or small, national or rural," said Dan Hoskins, senior vice president of the Intrado Wireless Business Group. "Rural providers like Ramcell of Oregon and Illinois Valley Cellular are helping us achieve this goal by deploying Intrado Hosted 9-1-1 Services. With Intrado, wireless subscribers can have access to reliable, accurate and high-quality E9-1-1 services."
