Vodafone Lights Up with Huge Outdoor Signage
Vodafone Japan has launched its largest outdoor advertising slogan. The neon and LED advertising sign is positioned atop the San-ai Dream Center Building by the Ginza 4-chome intersection of Tokyo, Japan's symbolic commercial district. Starting this evening, beautiful red and white neon along with an information displaying LED sign will light up the Ginza district.
During the autumn of the previous year, Vodafone K.K. changed its name from J-PHONE to Vodafone and migrated to the corporate logo and design used by other Vodafone Group operators around the globe. Since last year, Vodafone K.K. has strived to increase the number of outdoor advertisements nationwide both efficiently and effectively, selecting the best landmark positions in major cities. Currently there are over 20 locations for Vodafone brand outdoor signs around the country with unified specifications.
The new sign in Ginza features neon of a high density similar to that of an LCD display. The background glows in crimson as one complete luminous body and the brand logo is extremely bright, leaving a strong impression. Since the building has a cylindrical shape, the neon tubes employ a special curving technology, making the arcs look as though they are rendered in 3D and highly dense gradations that were previously difficult to produce have been achieved. With this advanced neon technology, the sign can repeatedly blink on and off in stunning combinations of the brand colors, red and white, while smooth gradations are displayed in the background.
Furthermore, an LED display will be located underneath the advertising sign that displays various types of information, such as political, economic and sports news, weather forecasts of cities around the world, entertainment news, and advertisements and messages from Vodafone.
The Ginza district developed as a commercial district with famous department stores early in the previous century and since then has grown into a major business and entertainment district that is well known around the world to represent Tokyo. With the unveiling of the new advertising sign at the Ginza 4-chome intersection, Vodafone will strive to offer its customers even richer global communications and advanced products and services."
