Leather Cases Show Top10 Handset Sales
The Swedish manufacturer of carrying cases for portable electronics, Krusell, has released their "Top 10" list for February 2004. The list is based upon the number of pieces of model specific mobile phone cases that has been ordered from Krusell during February 2004.
Krusell's list is unique due to the fact that it reflects the sales of mobile phones on six continents and in more than 40 countries around the globe.
"Comparing our list to other international lists shows that on the markets where we have strong presence also Sony Ericsson has a large market share, "says Ulf Sandberg Marketing Director at Krusell.
"You can also see that a specific model can reach a higher ranking if it is released on several continents. For example the T610/630-series which is helped by the T628 which is the same body, but in a chinese language version. The same syndrom can be seen on Nokia 2260 (US-version) that uses the same designformat as the old Nokia 33-34-series. One of the things that has changed over the past six months is the increase of sales in clamshell phones," Sandberg continues. "This is a strong trend that we foresee to continue during 2004," he ends.
