Unified Billing for Three Countries

Cerillion Technologies has signed an agreement with Tele2 to provide a unified billing solution for mobile and fixed operations in Latvia. This solution will provide billing for over 200,000 subscribers. The billing platform is based in Tallinn and already supports Tele 2 operations in Estonia and Lithuania. The decision means that nearly one million subscribers across in three countries will be supported on just one Cerillion platform.

The Latvian project will be completed in two phases. First will be an implementation for a completely new fixed wire service. Once this is complete the subscribers using the existing mobile network will be migrated across from their current billing platform.

Said Mart Nielsen, CIO Baltics for Tele2: "This project will be executed by the same team that implemented the solution for Tele2 Lithuania. This consists of a mix of Tele2 Estonia and Cerillion staff who have acquired considerable knowledge on how to migrate existing systems on to the Cerillion platform. The approach that we are using, which involves considerable knowledge transfer, has got to be one of the most effective ways of dealing with multiple site operations. The sharing of expertise, equipment and software delivers significant economies of scale and scope."

Louis Hall, CEO of Cerillion Technologies, said: "We are very pleased to be able to further extend our relationship with Tele2. The pan national billing model that this illustrates should prove increasingly attractive to operator groups with similar issues. The economies of scale are just too significant to be ignored."
