Indonesian Network Orders Billing Solution
Convergys has announced a contract to license Infinys to the Indonesian GSM network operator, Satelindo. The Indonesian cellular operator will use Geneva, the Infinys application for rating and billing, with the Infinys application for order management to support Satelindo's postpaid services and introduce 2.5G mobile services.
Satelindo is Indonesia's second-largest cellular operator with 3.6 million subscribers as of June 30, 2003. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of PT Indonesian Satellite Corporation (PT Indosat). Jakarta-based Satelindo was established in 1993 and provides international telephony and satellite communications services in addition to cellular services.
"As we prepare to launch new 2.5G mobile voice and data offerings, Infinys provides the proven convergent services support that is essential to our ability to drive both revenue and subscriber growth with these new products," said Johnny Swandi Sjam, President Director of Satelindo. "The particular Infinys applications that we are deploying will support us with the flexibility and functionality of fully convergent rating and billing and order management and will seamlessly integrate with our existing systems."
"Convergys remains committed to supporting Indonesia's telecommunication services market with the advanced, convergent, billing and customer care solutions next-generation offerings require," said Steve Robertson, President of Convergys' Information Management Group International. "By deploying Infinys, Satelindo can quickly and cost-effectively roll out 2.5G mobile services, respond rapidly to competitive situations, and deliver responsive care to its growing subscriber base."
Convergys will migrate Satelindo's postpaid customer accounts to Infinys and integrate the solution with existing Satelindo systems."
